I have a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Rank I in School Administration.
Growing up in Owensboro and graduating from Daviess County High School, I have a deep-rooted connection to our community and a strong commitment to our schools.
After high school, I was fortunate to earn a full-ride scholarship to the University of Louisville as part of the McConnell Scholars program, graduating with a degree in Political Science. As a Social Studies teacher and later the College and Career Readiness Counselor at Daviess County High School, I had the privilege of guiding students toward their goals.
One of my proudest achievements was leading the expansion of our dual credit program, which saw a 400% increase in student enrollment and helped DCPS students save millions in college tuition. This experience underscores my belief in innovative solutions that provide real benefits to our students and their families.
Now, with experience in the private sector, I bring a well-rounded perspective on the challenges and opportunities our community faces. This unique blend of experiences, both within education and beyond, equips me to be a strong advocate for students, families, teachers, and staff.
The person who currently represents the district I'm running in started in education nearly two decades before I was born. While I'm grateful for the dedication they've displayed, it's time to bring a new generation of leadership that can embrace the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century to prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow.Â
Nearly 25 years into the 21st century, our schools haven't changed much from 25 years before it started.
Avoiding innovation in favor of an outdated status quo robs our students of the skills they need to thrive in the modern workforce and meet the needs of our community.
Will you join me in making sure our students are future ready?
